Beetlemania




...and now, as we creep through the undergrowth of the Erihsehc jungle we are privelidged to spot a very rare creature indeed...




A distant relative of the more common stag beetle "Lucanus Cervus", the prehistoric throwback COLEOPTERA REX, also known as the GARNET BEETLE due to it's jewel encrusted thorax.



This almost resulted in it's complete demise when it was hunted to the very brink of extinction by man and his lust for sparkling treasures.

This is the first known sighting for over seventy years, and I'm sure you are as excited as I am. We are also hoping our expedition through the unchartered sector of this secret haven will lead to more discoveries of some equally rare finds...
