M is for MALACHITE

Malachite was one of the first green pigments in Egypt and China. It was used for early eye makeup and found in tomb paintings. This is a luxury Malachite bath (£111,000) with 22ct gilded feet for a modern Cleopatra.

I've been wanting to capture some of these swirling greens for a while so here are two new rings I've finished today.

Cocktails on the Moon

Well, last night there was the LUNAR ECLIPSE which I hope some people got to see, I tried but here in Manchester it was too cloudy.
But I was thinking of this lovely big red moon and if it was such an event here, would it be a big deal ON THE MOON? What if there was some kind of cool cocktail party going on up there as everyone waits for the moon to pass into our shadow?? And what (on moon) would you wear???

I think the answer is a massive statement cocktail ring.

Now I'm not sure how many phalanges a moon dweller might have so hopefully it would accommodate their tentacles/fronds, but for "Earth humans" it sits over three fingers comfortably.

Nebula Cocktail Ring

A nebula (from Latin: "cloud") is an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas, helium gas and otherionized gases. Originally, nebula was a general name for any extended astronomical object, including galaxies beyond the Milky Way. Nebulae often form star-forming regions, such as in the Eagle Nebula.

ant nebula

So basically a space cloud that can make cities of stars.

Borrowed treasure (Book Karma)

The Best Ring Book In The World finally went back to the library after many months of renewals. Before it's return I managed to do a few studies of my favourites in the brief sunshine of a local beer garden. Not to worry though, just got a fabulous selection of books for my birthday -and no fines!!!!!!

And this is the flat-pack balsa beast, found in a charity shop this weekend. I remember mithering for a "really cool" dinosaur magazine as a kid, with parts included week by week to BUILD YOUR OWN GLOW IN THE DARK DINOSAUR!!!!!!! Unfortunately missed a couple of issues so never completed a T-Rex of my very own...until now!
